About Sandra Grosso
I am a highly experienced and passionate Speech and Language Therapist with more than 27 years of specialist clinical experience.
Since graduating, I have worked in 3 Acute Hospitals, Child Development Centres, Mainstream and Special Schools and Community Clinics. For more than 19 years, I was the Clinical Service Lead in the Paediatric Acute Speech and Language Therapy Service at St Mary’s Hospital, Paddington, London, where I led a team of therapists providing specialist feeding, swallowing and communication services. For nearly 4 of those years, I was the Clinical Lead Paediatric Acute Speech and Language Therapist across both St Mary’s and The Royal Brompton Hospitals in London. I was also the assigned Speech and Language Therapist in the Paediatric Allergy Service at St Mary’s Hospital. I have also worked in Independent Practice for many years.
I have extensive experience in all clinical areas of Infant and Paediatric Feeding and Swallowing, both acute and chronic, including gastro-oesophageal reflux, gut dysmotility and allergic gut disease. I also run a Feeding Clinic with a Highly Specialist Paediatric Dietician colleague.
Other areas of expertise include Complex Special needs including Autism, Social Communication Disorder, ADD and ADHD, Cerebral Palsy, Developmental Delay, Specific Language Impairment, Speech Dyspraxia and Speech Dysfluency (Stammering) in both Paediatrics and Adults.
I passionately believe in the value and potential of evidence-based Speech and Language Therapy intervention to help infants, children and adults live their healthiest, happiest and best lives.
I work both face-to-face and via online consultations (telehealth). International clients are welcome. I am fluent in English, Italian and Afrikaans. Please note that I am a UK-based clinician and practice under the jurisdiction of the United Kingdom
I am Registered with Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC), The Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists (RCSLT) and the Association of Speech and Language Therapists in Independent Practice (ASLTIP).
